Golf Places Third at Golden Tigers Invitational

Gainesville, Georgia- The Brenau golf team finished third at the rain-shortened Golden Tigers Invitational hosted at Chattahoochee Country Club this past Monday.

The final day of play was cancelled due to inclement weather and the standings after the opening round are considered final.

The Golden Tigers captured third place by posting a team score of 340 (+52).

Individually, senior Macie Hurst shot an opening day 81 (+9) to tie for 6th place to lead the home squad. Senior Annika Blanton and sophomore Haylee Rhodes both had solid showings with an 86 (+14) to tie for 18th place. Freshman Ylenia Bennasar added a 87 (+15) to place T21, while fellow freshman McKenzie McRee placed 45th with a 95 (+23).

Dalton State College (Ga.) took top team honors with a team score of 318 (+30), while Cumberland (Tenn.) University captured second place with a 328 (+40).

Dalton State's Hanna Bullard took low medalist honors with a 73 (+1).

Brenau next competes at the Piedmont Invitational in Demorest, Ga. on March 29th and 30th.
