Golf Competes at Piedmont Spring Invitational

Clarkesville, Georgia- The Brenau golf team captured second place at the Piedmont College Spring Invite, played at The Orchard Golf and Country Club this past Monday and Tuesday.

The Golden Tigers posted a 686 (+110) team score at the tournament, including two top-ten individual finishes.

Senior Annika Blanton led the squad with a 80-79-159 (+7) to place third overall in the event and fellow senior Macie Hurst also had a solid showing with a 86-79-165 (+21) to finish in sixth place. Freshman Ylenia Bennasar added an 89-90-179 (+35) to capture 11th place, while sophomores Haylee Rhodes (92-92-194) and McKenzie McRee (91-96-187) finished 14th and 15th respectively.

Methodist College (NC) took top team honors with a team score of 627 (+19) while Jillian Drinkard of Methodist College was the low medalist (76-72-148).

Brenau next competes at the Tennessee Wesleyan Invitational in Niota, Tenn. on April 5th and 6th.
