Golf Places Sixth at Golden Tigers Spring Invite
Gainesville, Georgia- The Brenau golf team placed fifth at the Golden Tigers Spring Invite hosted at Chattahoochee Golf Club this past Monday and Tuesday.
The Golden Tigers had a tough opening round as the squad posted a team total of 538, however, the squad improved on day two with a 344 for a two-day total of 702 (+126).
Sophomore Ylenia Bennasar led the squad with an 87-84-171 (T18), while junior McKenzie McRee improved five strokes on the second day to shoot a 90-85-175 (T25).
Freshman Kaylee Stickney tied for 31st with a 91-87-178 and fellow freshman Sasha Baker tied for 35th place with a 93-88-181. Junior Haylee Rhodes also added a 90-95-185 to place 39th.
Cumberland (Tenn.) University swept top team and low medalist honors as Emma Hermansson fired a 75-73-148 to lead the Phoenix to a team total of 629. AAC rivals Tennessee Wesleyan (659), Reinhardt (Ga.) University (683) and Point (Ga.) University (692) rounded out the top finishers.
Brenau next competes at the Tennessee Wesleyan Spring Classic in Athens, Tenn. from April 3-5.
