Golf Earns Sixth Place at AAC Championships
Adairsville, Georgia- The Brenau golf team placed sixth at the Appalachian Athletic Conference Championships played at the Barnsley Gardens Resort Course on Monday and Tuesday.
The Golden Tigers improved seven strokes from day one to day two to post a 346-33-685 and finish only two shots behind fourth place Tennessee Wesleyan University.
Sophomore Ylenia Bennasar led the Brenau squad with an 80-85-165 (+19) to place 17th, while junior Haylee Rhodes tied for 21st place with a two-day total of 88-80-168.
Freshman Kaylee Stickney posted a consistent 83-85-168 (T21), while fellow freshman Sasha Baker and junior McKenzie McRee each posted a 184 to tie for 37th place.
Truett McConnell (Ga.) won the team title with a 305-310-615, while Milligan (Tenn.) (+42) and SCAD-Atlanta (+59) rounded out the top three team finishers.
Truett's MinJi Kang captured low medalist honors with a 68-69-137.
Brenau returns all six lettter winners to the 2022-23 team next season.
