Golf Places Sixth at AAC Championships

Greeneville, Tennessee- The Brenau golf team placed sixth at the 2023 Appalachian Athletic Conference Women’s Golf Championships  at Link Hills Golf and Country Club this Monday and Tuesday.

The team shot 346-346-692 (+116) to finish only two strokes behind fifth place Reinhardt (Ga.) University.

Individually, Laura Kniess led the Golden Tigers with a tie for 19th place. The freshman shot an opening round 87, but rallied to improve to a final round 83 to post a total score of 170 (+26) at the championships.

Two Golden Tigers placed in a tie for 21st place as senior Haylee Rhodes shot an even 86-86-172 (+28) and junior Ylenia Alcibiade Bennasar also notched an 85-87-172 (+28).

Other Golden Tiger finishers include sophomore Sasha Baker (88-90-178/T33) and senior McKenzie McRee (89-90-179/35th).

Milligan (TN) University earned top team honors with a score of 330-312-642 (+66) while SCAD-Atlanta (330-318-648) and Truett (GA) McConnell (339-329-668) round out the top three team finishers.
