Cheer Places Top 10 at Cheer Nationals
The Brenau competition cheerleading team had a strong showing at the National Cheerleading Association (NCA) Cheer Nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida on April 6-10.
The squad notched a top ten finish- 10th overall-in the all-girl III division finals, which judges teams on a variety of skills including tumbling, stunting, choreography and degree of difficulty.
Davenport (Mich.) University came in first place in the championships, while Montclair State (NJ) University, Elmira (NY) University and Bridgewater State (MA) University rounded out the top four.
"I am proud of the girls and their performance," said head coach Krista Britt. "We faced some adversity in the weeks leading up, but the girls pushed through and worked hard. We are a very young team with only two seniors."
"I look forward to seeing our freshman and sophomores continue to grow their skills. We are already preparing and strategizing for next season."
