All County Infielder Signs With Brenau Softball

Gainesville,Ga- Kayla Heggood, a four year starter at Northgate High School in Newnan, has signed a letter of intent to play softball for Brenau University beginning next fall. Heggood was a two time 5A All County and one time 4A All County performer and was the 2007 Team MVP. She was a member of the Northgate 2008 Elite 8 team and has played both shortstop and third base in high school.In addition to her softball acheivements, Heggood is a member of the Honor Roll, Church Youth Group and Future Educators of America and she plans to major in Education at Brenau. "Kayla is a very solid and versatile infielder that will add depth to our infield positions next year. She also possesses very good power at the plate," said Coach Devon Thomas.
