Tigers Win Two at Shorter Invitational

Rome, GA - The Brenau Golden Tigers softball team ran their season record to 6-0 with two wins on the opening day of the Shorter Invitational, defeating Montreat College 6-0 and beating Bryan College for the third time this year, 11 - 1. Anna Maness pitched the Montreat College game and had a total of nine strikeouts and only gave up one hit. Tiffany Schandera, Katie Bolin, Morgan Smith, and Brooke Bryant drove the ball well with two hits a piece to help clinch the victory.

Ellen Black struck out four in the game against Bryan College and only gave up one hit. She also proved to be hot with the bat and went 2-4 with a triple and a three-run home run. Lana Lazar and Jana Bryant both went 2-3, and Taylor Kelley added to the cause going 2-2 with a home run.

The Tigers continue their play on Saturday, Feb. 26th taking on Lindsey Wilson College (KY) at 10:00 am, Tennessee Wesleyan at noon, and finishing with Georgetown College (KY) at 6:00 pm.
