Brenau Softball Keeps Hopes Alive
COLUMBUS, GA - After dropping a close opening game at the 2012 SSAC Softball Tournament, the Golden Tigers came roaring back on day two; winning three in a row in the process. The team continues to keep its hopes alive as they find ways to win; many times those winning runs coming in the final inning of the game.
In game one yesterday against Faulkner University, Brenau narrowly won in the last inning by the score of 3-2. The win avenges a previous loss to Faulkner back in March. In game two, Brenau was matched up with the Lady Barons of Brewton Parker. The Golden Tigers gave up a run in the first inning and had to play catch up for the remainder of the game - once again winning the game by a single run. In the final game of the day, Brenau loaded the bases in their final at bat, scoring the winning run off of a wild pitch and beating the Belhaven Blazers to go 3-0 on the day!
Brenau will face the Shorter Hawks when they take to the field today. Brenau split with Shorter when they last met during the regular season on April 19th. The game is scheduled to begin at 10am at the South Commons Park Softball Complex in Columbus, GA.
