Softball and Track Sign Dual-Sport Athlete
Brenau softball and track and field announces the signing of Lauren Sanders to both teams.
Sanders, a dual-sport athlete from East Jackson High School in Commerce, Georgia, played softball and track all four years of her high school career.
During her senior season in track and field, Sanders was a region runner-up in the 100 meter hurdles. She holds her school record for both the 60 and 100 meter hurdles.
As a softball player, Sanders had an on-base percentage of .419 and added 15 steals during her senior campaign.
"Lauren will be playing outfield for softball and hurdling for the track team," said head track coach Rick Ludwig. "She has a great deal of potential to improve her speed and quickness to contribute quickly to both teams".
Head softball coach Devon Thomas adds, "Lauren will help our team with her speed and athleticism. We are glad to have her as part of both of our programs".
