The Bears tied the score 2-2 with runs in the bottom of the second, but neither team seized control until the top of the sixth inning when the Golden Tigers found a spark.

After the Bears surrendered back-to-back walks, Victoria Fontana (SO/Jackson, GA) singled to drive in the first run of the inning. Kelsey Payne (FR/Chattanooga, Tenn.) followed with another single to score pinch runner Lauren Sanders (FR/Maysville, Ga.). After an Elizabeth Schneider (JR/Smyrna, Ga.) walk with the bases loaded to make the score 3-0, Payne scored on a wild pitch to increase the lead to 4-0.
