Seniors Lead Softball Over Coastal Georgia

On Senior Day, the Brenau softball team was lifted by two outstanding senior performances to help lead a sweep of the College of Coastal Georgia on Saturday in Gainesville.

In game one, senior Katie Cole went 2-3 with a home run and two RBIs, while junior Cheyenne Marsh added an RBI to help the Golden Tigers escape with a 4-3 win.

Freshman Madison Gossett (14-10) pitched a complete game, allowing two runs on five hits with three strikeouts.

In game two, Cole continued her outstanding final home stand as the Tupelo, Miss. native drove in five runs, including a grand slam to lead Brenau to an 8-3 victory.

Freshman Savannah Moore added two RBIs, while Mackenzie Oliver added two hits.

Fellow senior Jenny Willis (11-2) threw five innings, allowing only two runs and six hits to capture the win. Gossett pitched two perfect innings in relief.

Brenau (29-15) closes out the regular season on the road on Saturday when the Golden Tigers travel to Cochran, Ga. for a 1 pm eastern doubleheader against Middle Georgia State College.
