Dorr Commits to Softball
Brenau softball announces the signing of Gracie Dorr to the 2015-16 team.
Dorr, the daughter of Laurie and Peter Dorr, is a graduate of Creekview High School and a member of the Georgia Fire travel team.
At Creekview, Dorr was both the Cherokee Ledger and Cherokee Tribune Pitcher of the Year and a first-team all-region selection. She was ranked fourth in the state in strikeouts (130), fourth in earned run average (1.39) and first in wins.
"I'm so excited to be joining this beautiful campus and meeting all the girls that I'll be playing ball with," said Dorr on her signing. "And I especially cannot wait to start my college experience at such a nice school."
Head coach Devon Thomas said that, "Gracie is a pitcher that has great command and control of all the pitches she throws. She knows how to get batters out, hits her spots and walks very few. She pitched for a good high school team and played at the highest level of travel ball also".
"She is a great addition to our pitching staff and I look forward to great things from her early in her career here."
Dorr, who plans on enrolling in the College of Health Sciences and hopes to pursue a career in Sports Medicine, is the fourth signee for the softball program.
