Softball Signs Wolinsky for 2015-16
Brenau softball announces the signing of Megan Wolinsky to the 2015-16 team.
Wolinsky is a native of Chickamauga, Georgia and the daughter of Brenda and Glen Wolinsky. She is a graduate of Gordon Lee High School and played travel softball for head coach John Fitchjarrell and the East Cobb Bullets.
While at Gordon Lee, Wolinsky was an integral part of four state championship teams.
During the 2014 season with the East Cobb Bullets, Wolinsky posted a 2.05 earned run average and helped lead the squad to a national top-50 finish. In 2013, she earned 86 strikeouts and held a 2.48 ERA.
"It was a surreal moment with the people that mean the most and made it all possible" said Wolinsky of her signing. "Brenau is a wonderful school that offers a quality education and a solid softball team."
"I can't wait to start this new beginning and be a part of a team with coaches that really care for and respect their players."
Head coach Devon Thomas said about Wolinsky: "Megan is a solid pitcher that will add depth and experience to our pitching staff. She spins the ball well and has good control of all of her pitches. Megan has also played this summer in one of the top travel ball organizations in the country-East Cobb Bullets-again this year which has helped her stay in shape and work on her pitches."
Wolinsky, who plans on majoring in Biology, is the fifth signee for the softball program.
