Daniel Named SSAC Player of the Week

Kathleen Daniel was named as the Southern States Athletic Conference softball player of the week, the conference announced Monday.

The Locust Grove, Ga. freshman posted a 3-0 mark with one save to help the Golden Tigers go 5-1 on the week. Daniel logged 29.1 innings, fanning 58 batters, while allowing only one run and seven hits. Against West Virginia Tech, she struck out 17 batters in a one-hit shutout, while against #13 Georgia Gwinnett, she struck out 13 in a one-hit shutout victory.

Currently, she paces the SSAC in opponents' batting average (.077), strikeouts (121) and wins (7). This is her first career SSAC Player of the Week honor.
