Softball Takes Two Against Agnes Scott
The Brenau softball team slugged 18 runs and two pitchers combined for 12 shutout innings in a doubleheader sweep over Agnes Scott (Ga.) College this past weekend in Gainesville.
In game one, freshman Eli Daniel struck out 18 of 24 batters in a two-hit, shutout win to capture her 11th win of the season.
The Brenau offense scored two runs in bottom of the first for an early 2-0 lead, then added runs in the bottom of the third, fifth and sixth innings to pull away with the victory.
In the second game, Jessica Rathje hurled five shutout innings to lead the Golden Tigers to a 13-0 blowout.
Mason Garland led the hit parade with a 3-3 day with two RBIs, while Autumn Conaway went 3-3 with two RBIs. Kelsey Payne, Courtney Kenney, Shelton Kendrix and Sarah Peery each added a RBIs.
Brenau (16-3 overall) next travels to Emmanuel (Ga.) College on Tuesday for a 4 pm non-conference doubleheader.
