Golden Tigers Softball Sweeps SSAC Weekly Honors
Two members of the Brenau softball team swept the SSAC Softball Player of the Week honors, with Autumn Conaway being named Player of the Week and Kathleen Daniel being named Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
The awards are based on performance for the week of March 27 – April 2.
Conaway hit .385 and slugged .615, while totaling five hits, two runs, one home run and four RBIs. She recorded a hit in every contest, going 2-for-3 with a home run and two runs in a 4-1 win over No. 21 Mobile and 1-for-4 with three RBIs in a 5-3 win over No. 2 William Carey.
On the season, the freshman is hitting .379 and slugging .516 with 47 hits, 10 doubles and 20 RBIs
She is the second Golden Tiger to win player of the week honors this year, as teammate Kelsey Payne won it in week No. 3
For Daniel, this is her sixth player of the week honors as she went 4-0 on the week, sweeping No. 21 Mobile and No. 2 William Carey to improve her team's record to 37-5 on the year
The freshman logged four complete games, fanning 39 in 28 innings and allowing only two earned runs, two walks and 20 hits.
On the year, she is 30-2 with a 0.45 ERA and 418 strikeouts in 231.1 innings worked. She leads the NAIA in wins (30), opponents' batting average (.113), strikeouts (418) and IP (231.1).
