Conaway and Daniel Sweep SSAC Weekly Softball Awards
Brenau (Ga.) swept the SSAC Softball Player of the Week honors, with Autumn Conaway being named SSAC Softball Player of the Week and Kathleen Daniel being named SSAC Softball Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
The awards are based on performance for the week of April 17-23.
For Conaway, this is her third award, having won it in three of the last four weeks In four conference wins, the freshman hit .583 and slugged .833, while totaling seven hits and four RBIs. She had three multi-hit games, including a homer and two RBIs versus Faulkner and 3-for-4 in game one against Coastal Georgia.
On the year, the Guyton, Ga. native is hitting .423 and slugging .590 with 32 RBIs and 66 hits.
Daniel, who has won the award an unprecedented eight out of 10 weeks, was 3-0 on the week for the #2 ranked Golden Tigers.
She tossed a three-hitter with 10 strikeouts vs Coastal Georgia and fanned nine versus Faulkner. Against Coastal Georgia, the Locust Grove, Ga. native also notched her 500th strikeout of the season, which is second all-time for a single season in the NAIA.
On the season, the freshman is 38-2 with a 0.50 ERA and 501 strikeouts in 279.1 innings
