Softball Picked Second in AAC Preseason Poll
The Brenau softball team was voted second in the 2019 Appalachian Athletic Conference Softball Coaches Poll, the conference announced on Wednesday.
Fresh off another national tournament appearance, the Golden Tigers garnered 128 total votes, including four first-place votes from the conference coaches.
Brenau returns eleven letter winners from last year's 30-win team, including a pair of First-Team All-Conference honorees in sophomore Faith Grooms and junior Autumn Conaway. In last year's inaugural season in the AAC, the squad finished as runners-up in the conference tournament.
Defending 2018 regular season and tournament champions Truett McConnell received six first-place votes and 142 total voting points for preseason first-place honors, while Reinhardt (125 points) and Tennessee Wesleyan (106) placed third and fourth, respectively. Point and Union each received 104 points to round out the top five.
