Softball Secures Commit from Cox for 2020-21

The Brenau softball team and head coach Devon Thomas announce the signing of Carley Cox to the 2020-21 team.

Cox, the daughter of Teresa and Ernest England, is a graduate of East Hall High School and a native of Gillsville, Ga.

During her career at East Hall, the outfielder was a three-time all-region selection. She was also a member of the National Honors Society, FCA and a student council member. Cox also served as the school's yearbook editor.

When asked about her commitment to Brenau, Cox said, "I am blessed and honored to further my education and softball career at Brenau University. I knew the moment I stepped on the field with Coach Thomas and Coach Ledford that it was the perfect place for me and there's no place like home."

According to head coach Devon Thomas, "Carly is a natural outfielder with a strong arm and reads the ball very well off the bat. In high school and travel ball she also played in the infield. She is very versatile and that is always a plus for team."

Cox plans on majoring in psychology and is the fourth signee for the 2020-21 team.
