Dornhecker Signs with Softball for 2020-21

The Brenau softball team and head coach Devon Thomas announce the signing of Evee Dornhecker to the 2020-21 team.

Dornhecker, the daughter of Lena Rider and David Dornhecker, is a graduate of Lumpkin County High School and a native of Dahlonega, Ga.

During her senior season at Lumpkin County, the shortstop hit .369 with six homers and 35 RBIs and was a finalist for the Blitz Sports Player of the Year. She also participated in HOSA and Theater.

When asked about her commitment to Brenau, Dornhecker said, "I am super excited to continue my softball career at Brenau University. It has been my dream to play college softball and at the next level. I am excited to meet my teammates and go far in our season!"

According to Coach Thomas, "Evee is a solid defensive shortstop that will add depth to our infield. She is a very consistent hitter at the plate and look forward to having her in our program."

Dornhecker plans on majoring in special education and is the sixth signee for the 2020-21 team.
