Softball Looks Ahead to 2021 AAC Tournament
Asheville, North Carolina- The Brenau softball team enters the 2021 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Softball tournament as the eighth seed, the conference office announced on Thursday.
Brenau (18-14 overall, 15-11 AAC) will face ninth-seeded Bluefield (Va.) College (16-18 overall, 10-16 AAC) in a single elimination, opening round game on Monday at 11 am at the Brickyard Ball Fields in Kingsport, Tenn.
The winners of both the No. 8 and No. 9 matchup and the No. 7 and No. 10 matchup will advance to the final eight and compete in a double-elimination tournament.
The Golden Tigers finished in a three-way tie with Bryan (Tenn.) College and Union (Ky.) College, but by virtue of tie-breakers, fell to the #8 seed.
Milligan (Tenn.) University captured the top-seed after winning the regular season title, and will take on the winner of the Brenau/Bluefield matchup.
Brenau previously defeated Bluefield 9-8 and 10-5 in an earlier season doubleheader.
