Softball Sweeps Trinity Baptist College

Gainesville, Georgia- The Brenau softball team continued to score runs in a sweep of Trinity Baptist (Fla.) College in a non-conference matchup on Monday.

The Golden Tigers pounded out 12 hits in each game to win both games 11-3 over the visiting Eagles.

In game one, the offense capitalized on three Trinity Baptist errors to score seven first inning runs. Senior Shea Reagor was a perfect 3-3 at the plate and junior Carley Cox added two RBIs to roll past Trinity Baptist 11-3 in five innings. 

Starter Sarah Shaw continued to pitch well with a complete game win. The junior allowed three runs over five innings to secure her third win of the season.

In the second game, Brenau scored seven runs in the sixth inning to close out an 11-3 win in six innings. Freshman Whitney Hulsey continued her strong start as a Golden Tiger with two RBIs, while fellow freshman Charlotte Smith added two hits and an RBI. 

Starter Alyssa Bedenbaugh threw five innings and allowed only one run to earn her first victory of the early season.

Brenau (4-0 overall, 0-0 AAC) continues its non-conference slate on Friday with a doubleheader against Rio Grande (2-2 overall) starting at 3 pm in Gainesville.
