Softball Splits Two Doubleheaders in Columbia
Columbia, South Carolina-The Brenau softball team split a pair of conference doubleheaders against Columbia International (S.C.) and Columbia (S.C.) College this past weekend.
Against Columbia International, the Golden Tigers’ offense struggled mightily in the first game with a 6-0 loss, but rallied in the second game by pounding out 11 hits in a 6-4 win.
Morgan Tyler notched two RBIs and two stolen bases in the win, while starter Sarah Shaw won her seventh game of the year.
Against Columbia, the Golden Tigers easily won the first game 10-4 but allowed the host Koalas to squeeze out a 9th inning run to win 7-6.
Junior Hannah Patridge went 3-4 with 3 RBIs in the victory, while freshman Riley Smith and Whitney Hulsey each added two RBIs each. Shaw again earned the victory with a complete game.
Brenau (11-5 overall, 7-3 AAC) hosts Truett McConnell (Ga.) (13-5 overall, 6-0 AAC) in an AAC doubleheader starting at 4 pm in Gainesville.
