Softball Sweeps Kentucky Christian in AAC Action
Gainesville, Georgia- The Brenau softball team swept Kentucky Christian 3-2 and 11-8 in an Appalachian Athletic Conference doubleheader on Wednesday.
In the opener, Brenau starter Alyssa Bedenbaugh held the visitors to only two runs and the Golden Tigers stole four bases en route to a 3-2 victory.
Bedenbaugh threw a complete game and limited the scoring to only two runs to collect her seventh victory of the season.
Morgan Tyler, Brighton Harder, Riley Smith and Tivona Myles each swiped a bag in the win.
In game two, junior Hannah Patridge hit her fourth home run of the season to help the Golden Tigers win 11-8 in a slugfest.
Partridge notched three RBIs, while Whitney Hulsey and Samantha Rooker each added two RBIs in the win.
The sweep keeps Brenau in a tie for 3rd place in the AAC softball standings with only four games remaining.
Brenau (22-8 overall, 18-4 AAC) next takes on Johnson (Tn.) University (17-9 overall, 12-8 AAC) in a Saturday AAC doubleheader starting at 3 pm at Ernest Ledford Grindle Park in Gainesville.
