Moon named as NFCA NAIA First-Team All-American
Louisville, Ky- Brenau sophomore Ava Moon continued to collect postseason hardware as the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) named its 2025 NFCA NAIA All-Americans on Thursday.
Moon earned first-team All-American by the NFCA selection committee for her performance during the 2025 season. Hitting second in the formidable Golden Tigers' lineup this season, Moon set the tone for the record-breaking offense by posting a .500 batting average this season, as the team led the NAIA with a .393 batting average.
In addition to her formidable batting average, Moon's all-around offensive performance sits comfortably amongst the NAIA elite in on base percentage (.555), hits (80), and stolen bases (38).
Head softball coach Devon Thomas noted that, "Moon's record-setting season was significant for our team's success. She is a fiery competitor and thrives off competition to be the best. All of her awards are well-deserved".
The NFCA All-American nod caps off a stellar postseason for the Watkinsville, Ga. native, who who received NAIA All-American third team honors, Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) first-team honors, and 2025 AAC All-Tournament team recognition. Moon also excelled in the classroom earning 2025 NAIA Scholar-Athlete, NFCA Easton All-American Scholar Athlete, and AAC All-Academic accolades.
