Southern Wesleyan Beats Brenau With Big Second Half

Central, SC- The Brenau Golden Tigers built a 38-31 halftime advantage tonight against Southern Wesleyan only to see the Warriors come back with a big second half to defeat the Tigers 81-69 in SSAC action. Brenau drops to 16-9, 5-7 and SWU improves to 12-11, 5-9. Sophomore Brittney Crews returned to action after a two month absence with an injury to lead Brenau in scoring with 15 points on 5-6 from the three point line. Freshman Nikki Reed had 14 points and four rebounds, Sarah Ledford tossed in 12 and Paige Cooper had 10 points. Kayla Plantin led six SWU players in double figures with 17 points and nine rebounds. Brenau shot a respectable .480 from the field, but couldn't match the .582 shooting percentage of the Warriors. The Tigers will finish off the week with another road game at Columbia on Saturday.
