Black Named Golden Tiger of the Week

Gainesville, Ga - Freshman guard Tala Black (Marietta) has been selected as Golden Tiger of the Week for the week of Nov. 9-16 as a result of her play at the Morris Classic last weekend. Tala came off the bench and scored 29 points in the two games she played.
Black was 10-18 from the field, including 4-8 from behind the arc and 5-6 from the free throw line to lead Brenau in scoring for the tournament. She was recognized by the tournament committee by being named team MVP. The Tigers were the only team to go undefeated in the classic.
"Tala gave us a lift offensively coming off the bench and hit some timely baskets to help us win both games," said Coach Gary Bays. "She certainly got her college career off to a good start and we look for big things from her this year."
