Harvey Named Golden Tiger of the Week

Gainesville, Ga - The coaching staff at Brenau University has selected Sophomore Gabby Harvey (Lilburn) as the Golden Tiger of the Week for the week of Dec. 28-Jan. 4. Gabby played in two games during the week as the basketball team competed in the Belhaven Classic in Jackson, MS and helped her team gain a split in the tournament.
Brenau defeated Blue Mountain, MS in the first game in an overtime thriller 75-72 and were defeated by Lyon, AR in the second game 66-42. Gabby scored 17 points, pulled down 14 rebounds, doled out six assists and collected nine steals in the two contests as the Tigers ran their season mark to 8-2.
"Gabby is one of those players who contributes to the team in a lot of ways," said Coach Gary Bays. "She leads us in steals, rebounds and assists and is a defensive presence on the court. Our team feeds off her intensity and she leads by example."
