The Golden Tigers Defeat the Bulldogs, 51-49

ATHENS, Tn - The Golden Tigers basketball team is on the road this weekend, competing in the Tennessee Wesleyan Classic. They played in their first game of the tournament this evening, against Union College.

Brenau defeated the Lady Bulldogs in their season opener, 51-49. As the Golden Tigers improved their overall record to 3-0, Union officially started their season off 0-1, this evening.

Sophomore Guard Brittany Wiley (Royston, GA) led the Golden Tigers with double digits, scoring 17 points, while Union's Lindsay Waters trailed behind her with 15 points.

Raven Crawford (Toccoa, GA) helped put Brenau on the board, by scoring 6 points and making 7 rebounds and a single steal. Tatian Khudiakova (Moscow, Russia) scored 9 points, while racking up 6 defensive rebounds.

Gabby Harvey (Lilburn, GA), Amanda Parker (Snellville, GA), and Anastasia Minaeva (Moscow, Russia) each contributed 3 points. In addition, Harvey collected 18 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 4 steals, while Minaeva and Parker each recorded a rebound and a steal.

Brenau University will play the host team, Tennessee Wesleyan College, tomorrow afternoon at 4pm.
