Brenau Succumbs to No. 1 Clayton State
DAHLONEGA, Ga - The Golden Tigers basketball team competed in the final day of North Georgia's Thanksgiving Classic. Brenau faced off against No. 1 Clayton State University, the defending National Champions.
The Lakers, who lead the nation in NCAA Division II Basketball, defeated the Golden Tigers 68-54. Clayton State advanced to a 4-1 overall record, while Brenau dropped to 4-5 overall (0-2 SSAC).
Junior Gabby Harvey (Lilburn, GA) was on fire today, against the Lakers, recording a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds. Harvey went on to earn 2 assists, 4 blocks, and 4 steals.
Tala Black (Marietta, GA) came in strong, by scoring 14 points for the Golden Tigers. Nikki Reed (Atlanta, GA) and Brittany Wiley (Royston, GA) scored 7 points each. Reed went strong with 9 rebounds, and Wiley was quick on defense collecting 7 rebounds and 5 steals.
The Brenau basketball team will be back on the road this Tuesday, November 29th, as they travel to Morris College. The game is scheduled for 6pm.
