Golden Tigers Lose on the Road
The Golden Tigers came up short tonight against Brewton-Parker losing 48-65 in Mt. Vernon. Trailing for the entire game, Brenau (overall 7-9; SSAC 1-5) was able to cut the lead to 6 in the second half but could not manage to pull ahead. Poor shooting plagued the Tigers at 29 percent compared to Brewton-Parker's 36 percent, while Brewton-Parker (overall 8-7; SSAC 3-3) also shot a blistering 60% from the 3-point line. Playing without leading rebounder Gabby Harvey, the Tigers also lost the battle of the boards 30-41.
Leading all scorers was Brewton-Parker's Takera Pinkney with 17, with help from Aliya Thomas with 11. High scorer and rebounder for Brenau was junior Nikki Reed (Atlanta, GA) with 9 points and 7 rebounds, while sophomore Tatiana Khudiakova (Moscow, Russia) had a nice all-around performance with 8 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks, and 3 steals.
The Golden Tigers will face SSAC opponent Southern Polytech at 2:00 p.m. at home this Saturday.
