Brenau Basketball Wins at Truett

The Golden Tigers secured another conference win yesterday against Truett-McConnell College in Cleveland, GA. The final score in the victory was 59-39, with all thirteen Brenau players on the roster seeing action in the contest. Improved team field goal percentage at 43% while holding the Bears (1-25; SSAC 0-16) to just 27% from the floor, along with out-rebounding the opponent 35-17 aided the Tigers (12-16; SSAC 6-11) to the win.

Leading the scoring for the Tigers was junior Nikki Reed with 13 points on 6-7 from the field, along with 9 rebounds. Junior Gabby Harvey pulled down a team-high 13 boards to go along with her 7 points and 2 steals, while sophomore Tala Black contributed 8 points. Truett-McConnell was led by Kelsey Montgomery with 13 points and 6 rebounds.

Brenau will play two more games in the regular season and is vieing for a coveted spot in the SSAC Tournament. Heading into a must-win situation, they will head up the road to face Emmanuel College on February 23^rd at 6:00 p.m. This game is followed by the last home game of the year- to be played against Southern Wesleyan on Saturday, February 25^th at 2:00 p.m.
