SSAC Announces 2011-2012 Awards
GAINESVILLE, GA - As Brenau University's basketball season came to a close the Southern States Athletic Conference announced its award winners for the 2011-12 season.
2011/12 MUSCO LIGHTING CHAMPION OF CHARACTER
This award is given to one student-athlete per team for each sponsored sport with the recipient selected by the coaches of the teams following each season of competition. Student-athletes are selected by the criteria outlined in the NAIA Champions of Character Program which is based on the chararctistics of respect, responsibility, integrity, servant leadership, and sportsmanship.

2011/12 SSAC ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
The award winners must have completed at least two academic terms earning at least 24 semester hours and attaining a grade point average of 3.25 or higher in all courses they attempt all the while participating in their sport during the semester.

The following players received recognition for their stellar basketball play throughout the year by being named to the all-division team. The players were voted on by coaches in the SSAC.
