Anikee Combee Signs for Basketball

Gainesville, GA- Brenau University Basketball announces the signing of their first 2012 recruit, Anikee Combee, of Jonesboro, GA.

Anikee, a 5'10 forward, helped lead Arlington Christian School to the GISA AAA State Championship this past season.During Arlington's undefeated season, Anikee averaged 16 points per game, 8.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks. At the end of her senior season, she was chosen as a member of the GISA All-Star Basketball Team.

When asked about Brenau, Anikee replied, "I had a lot of chemistry with the team and it just felt right," she said. "My coach always said you know where you really want to go to a school."

Julius Brown, Anikee's AAU coach states that, "Anikee is an all-around player who is a great student and person.She is going to be a good fit for Brenau".

Head Basketball Coach Kris Stewart notes that, "Anikee is a good all-around basketball player and a good person. Her versatility and passing ability will be great additions to our team. I am so happy that she has chosen to be part of our team."

The Golden Tigers return the nucleus of the squad from the 2011/12 season. Senior, Amanda Parker (Snellville, GA) is the lone graduate of the program this year. The Golden Tigers season opener will be announced at a later date.
