Brenau Basketball Players Garner Post-Season Awards
The Southern States Athletic Conference honored three Brenau Golden Tiger basketball players with postseason awards.
Senior forward Gabby Harvey (Lilburn, Ga.) was named to the SSAC All-Conference team. Harvey was the Golden Tigers' leading scorer (13.9 points per game) and rebounder (12.2 per game), and finished #3 in the nation in total rebounds per game.
Junior guard Brittney Wiley (Royston, Ga.) was named to the SSAC All-East team. Wiley was the Golden Tigers' 2nd leading scorer (11.5 points per game) and was ranked in the top 30 in 3-point shooting. This is the second year in a row that Wiley has received this honor.
Senior post Jasmyn Farmer (Lilburn, Ga.) was named the recipient of the Musco Lighting Champions of Character award. This award is given to a recipient of each team based on the characteristics of the NAIA Champions of Character program. Winners are based on the characteristics of respect, responsibility, integrity, servant leadership and sportsmanship.
Coach Kris Stewart said that, "All three of these young women deserve their accolades. Each one of them is a fine representative of both Brenau University and the basketball program. I am proud to have coached each of them".
