Basketball Tops Life to Win Sixth Straight Game
A strong effort from the bench helped the Brenau basketball team secure their sixth win of the season in a 77-67 win over Life (Ga.) University on Tuesday in Gainesville.
Senior Maegan Kenimer scored a career-high 16 points while sophomore Kaylyn Brooks added seven points- including two late free throws- to top the visiting Running Eagles for the second time this season.
Brenau started sluggish, but managed a 17-15 lead at the end of the first stanza. The visitors made a run behind seven first half points from Lucy Stone to take a 37-36 half time lead.
In the second half, the Brenau offense got on track as Kenimer came off the bench to score eight of her 16, while Autumn Dodson added 13 to pull away with the win.
Dodson led all scorers with 22 points, while Jasmine Knight added six points, 12 rebounds and five assists.
D'Arcy Draper led Life with 13 points.
Brenau (6-0) next travels to Young Harris (Ga.) College for a 5:30 non-conference game.
