Basketball Outpaces LaGrange 71-56
The Brenau basketball team forced 27 turnovers for a 71-56 win over LaGrange (Ga.) College in a non-conference matchup on Saturday in LaGrange.
The host Panthers led for the first four minutes of the game, but fell behind as many as 25 as the Golden Tigers cruised to their eighth win of the season.
"This was a good win after a long break," said head coach Kris Stewart. "Credit goes to our team as they returned in excellent condition after a 10 day break and really executed our defensive game plan today."
"I'm really pleased with our overall effort as this was a good start to the second half of the season."
Senior guard Autumn Dodson led all scorers with 24 points, while fellow senior Jasmine Knight added 11 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals. Kaylyn Brooks added 10 points and Madison Phillips chipped in seven points.
Lauren Johnson led LaGrange with 22 points.
Brenau (8-3 overall, 5-3 AAC) returns home to host Point (Ga.) University (10-3 overall, 7-1 AAC) on Tuesday at 5:30 pm in Gainesville.
