Basketball Stumbles At Milligan 82-57

The Brenau basketball team struggled in a road loss to Milligan College 82-57 in Appalachian Athletic Conference play on Wednesday in Elizabethton, Tennessee.

The host Buffaloes started the game on a scorching 25-8 run to start the game as the Golden Tigers struggled to find the mark. The Milligan offense continued to roll through the second quarter, increasing their lead to as many as 23.

In the third quarter, the Golden Tigers finally found their stride, cutting the deficit to 11 with 3:23 remaining in the period. However, the comeback fell short as the Brenau offense couldn't keep pace with the hot shooting Buffaloes.

Ashanti Brown led the Golden Tigers with 17 points and eight rebounds, while Jasmine Knight added four points, 19 rebounds and four assists. Autumn Dodson chipped in 16 points and Lia Thomas added 11 points.

Kaely Gose led Milligan with 17 points.

Brenau (19-9 overall, 13-8 AAC) travels to Union College (8-15 overall, 11-17 AAC) in Barbourville, Kentucky on Saturday for a 4 pm matchup in the final regular season game of the year before the AAC Tournament next week.
