Hot-Shooting Tennessee Wesleyan Downs Golden Tigers Basketball

The Brenau basketball team fell to a hot-shooting Tennessee Wesleyan University team 83-35 in Appalachian Athletic Conference play on Monday.

The host Bulldogs shot a blistering 10-19 from three point range in the first half, which led to a commanding 46-22 half time score.

After the break, the offensive struggles continued for the Golden Tigers, shooting only 21% (15-71) for the contest which allowed Tennessee Wesleyan to cruise to victory.

Lia Thomas led the Golden Tigers with eight points, while the Bulldogs' Hannah Cherry led all scorers with 14 points.

Brenau (5-16 overall, 3-15 AAC) next travels to face Union College (12-10 overall, 9-9 AAC) on Thursday in Barbourville, Kentucky.
