Green Commits to Golden Tigers Basketball
The Brenau team and head coach Kris Stewart announce the signing of Taylor Green to the 2020-21 team.
Green, the daughter of Shonda and Rufus Green, is a student at Marian County High School in Buena Vista, Ga.
During her prep career, Green was a standout in basketball, softball and track. As a basketball player, she was chosen as an all-region performer and was a 1,000-point scorer. In track, she placed first in the region and sixth in the state in the 800-meter run, as well as helping the 4x400 relay team place third at the state championships. In softball, Green was a four-time all-region performer and helped her team to an elite eight finish.
Academically, Green is an honor graduate, won the President's Academic Excellence award, a multiple winner of the Scholar-Athlete award and a member of the National Beta Club. During her senior year, Green also won the 13th Annual Vince Dooley Award for her academic performance.
When asked about her commitment to Brenau, Green said, "I am very thankful for the opportunity to continue my academic and athletic career at Brenau University. It is a dream come true and I am honored to be a Golden Tiger".
Coach Stewart said of Green: "Taylor is a very good athlete, but an even better student. She will bring athleticism and slashing ability to our team. I also believe that she will excel as both a leader on campus and as a student in the classroom"
Green, who will also compete on the Brenau track and field team, plans on majoring in biology and is the fourth signee for the 2020-21 basketball team.
