Basketball Receives AAC Postseason Awards

Waleska, Georgia- Members of the Brenau basketball team received 2023 Appalachian Athletic Conference postseason awards, the conference announced on Tuesday.

Freshman Anna Gliatta led the way by being selected as a 2023 AAC All-Freshman team member. The Cumming, Ga. native led the Golden Tigers in scoring with 13.2 points per game and led the conference in three point percentage with a blistering 44.7% from behind the arc. Gliatta topped off her outstanding inaugural campaign by receiving AAC Player of the Week honors for her play where she averaged 25.5 points over two conference games. 

Eight Golden Tigers also received 2023 All-Academic team honors as Katherine Fourie, Shaniya Gause, Taylor Green, Kait McCarter, Nyla Moore, Jill Pittman, Pollie Simpson and Kayla Stafford were honored. All-Academic team members must have achieved at least sophomore status and hold a minimum of a 3.25 or higher cumulative grade point average.

Additionally, Taylor Green received the 2023 Brenau AAC Champions of Character award. Recipients of this honor best represent the NAIA core values of Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Sportsmanship and Servant Leadership.
