Hot Shooting Propels Golden Tigers Past CIU 73-44
Gainesville, Georgia- The Brenau basketball hit 14 three pointers enroute to a 73-44 win over Columbia International (S.C.) University in an Appalachian Athletic Conference matchup on Wednesday.
The Golden Tigers started hot from the start as the squad nailed 7 three pointers in the first quarter to take an early 27-8 lead.
Brenau held the lead throughout the game, extending the lead to as many as 29 by the end of the fourth quarter.
The Golden Tigers shot a blistering 14-31 (45%) from three point range in the victory.
Sophomore guard Anna Gliatta led all scorers with 16 points, including shooting 4-6 from deep, while fellow sophomore Ellie Kinlaw added 13 points on 3-6 shooting. Senior Nyla Moore added 15 points and 5 rebounds, while junior post Kayla Stafford chipped in 9 points and 13 rebounds.
Keniah Watkins led CIU (3-10 overall, 2-9 AAC) with 12 points.
Brenau (7-6 overall, 6-5 AAC) next travels to take on Tennessee Wesleyan (6-6 overall, 4-6 AAC) in an Appalachian Athletic Conference matchup on Saturday at 2:00 pm.
