Columbia, South Carolina- Cold shooting doomed the Brenau basketball team in a 69-56 loss to Columbia International (SC) University in an Appalachian Athletic Conference game on Saturday.
The Golden Tigers kept pace in the first quarter against the host Rams as juniors Caylie Long and Kristina Peach each scored 5 points in the quarter. However, the squad shot 3-16 (19%) in the second quarter as CIU seized the advantage and took a 34-27 lead into halftime.
After the half, Brenau rallied in the third quarter to cut the deficit to only two points at the 5:11 mark, but the fourth quarter cold shooting by the Golden Tigers allowed the Rams to pull away down the stretch and take the victory.

Long led all scorers with 18 points and 7 rebounds, while Anna Gliatta added 16 points.
