Golden Tigers Golf Finishes 7th in First Tournament

The Brenau Golden Tigers golf team finished the Emmanuel College Fall Invitational in 7^th place with a total team score of 749.

Senior Kelly Garland, who shot an team-best 86 on day two, was named to the All-Tournament team. The Albany, GA native finished tied for 5^th overall.

Freshmen Morgan Wood (Dahlonega, GA) and Johanna Jakobsson (Gothenburg, Sweden) both shot 93 on day two, finishing in 14^th and 19^th places respectively. Lauren Smith (Gainesville, GA) shot a 103 to take 34^th place.

"The team didn't play their best golf today, but they really hung in there," said Coach Damon Stancil. "For their first event, I thought they showed a lot of heart and never stopped fighting".

Conference opponent Spring Hill College finished in 1^st place, while host Emmanuel College finished 2^nd.

The Golden Tigers next play at the Converse College (SC) Valkyrie Invitational on September 30^th.
