Golden Tigers Golf Competes At Converse Invitational
The Brenau Golden Tigers golf team traveled to the Converse College (SC) Fall Invitational for their second tournament of the season.
Held at the 5,822 yard Carolina Country Club Course, 44 golfers from 9 different teams competed over two days.
Freshman Johanna Jakobsson (Gothenberg, Sweden) posted a career-best 168, which tied her for 11th place out of the 44 golfers. Senior Kelly Garland (Albany, GA) shot a 177, which put her in 21st place, while freshman Morgan Wood (Dahlonega, GA) shot a 183 to finish tied for 25th place.
"Overall, I thought the team played well. We had some big numbers that hurt scores a bit. If we keep working hard, we can avoid those mistakes and be even more competitive," said head coach Damon Stancil. "It's a learning process and I am very proud of my team's effort".
The Golden Tigers next hit the links on October 21st and 22nd for the Chik-Fil-A Invitational at Stonebridge Golf Club in Rome, GA.
