Golf Signs Slaton For 2014
Head Coach Damon Stancil announces the signing of Brittan Slaton to the Brenau University Golf Team.
Slaton, the daughter of Shana Graham and Chuck Slaton, is a standout golfer from White County High School.
During her career, Slaton was a top-25 finisher in the Georgia State Championships in 2012 and 2013. As team Most Valuable Player, she qualified for every match and tournament in her high school career and was selected as an All-Area Golf Honorable Mention in 2012.
I am very excited to attend Brenau," said Slaton of her signing. "The atmosphere the school holds definitely drew me in and I look forward to playing golf with such a great group of girls."
Her high school coach, Beth Hildebran, noted that, "I'm excited to be a part of this special day because Brittan is like one of my own and she's signing with my alma mater! We're so excited to watch Brittan advance to the collegiate level, although we will miss her dearly here at White Co. Brenau is gaining a strong academic student-athlete who will represent Brenau well".
Coach Stancil echoed those sentiments, focusing on Slaton's outstanding talent and academic merits: "It's another great day for Golden Tigers Golf! Brittan is an extremely focused and driven young lady both in the class room and on the golf course. She brings talent and experience to our team and will play an integral part in building a winning golf program here at Brenau."
In addition to her outstanding athletic career, Slaton is also an active volunteer, serving at Gateway Health and Rehabilitation and at the Innsbruck Celebrity Golf Tournament.
Slaton, who plans on majoring in Biology, is the third commitment for the 2014-2015 season.
