Golf Picked Seventh in SSAC Preseason Poll
The Brenau golf team was selected seventh in the 2016 Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) Women's Golf Coaches' Poll, the conference announced on Thursday.
The Golden Tigers return eight letter winners from the 2015-16 team, including SSAC All-Conference selection Morgan Wood and 2014-15 SSAC All-Conference team member, Sara Jane Bowers. Head coach Damon Stancil also adds talented freshman Ashley Omidi and Kayla Watson to his experienced squad.
Dalton State (Ga.) University led the preseason poll with 80 votes, while reigning SSAC Champion William Carey came in second with 69 votes. Coastal Georgia (65), Faulkner (54) and Mobile (45) rounded out the top five.
The team kicks off the 2016 fall season on September 6th at the SCAD-Atlanta Invitational in Covington, Georgia.
