Blanton Commits to Brenau Golf

The Brenau golf team announces the signing of Annika Blanton to the 2017-18 team.

Blanton was a member of the four-time region championship team at at Mill Creek High School in Hoschton, Ga. She also was the low medalist at both the 2016 SJGT Georgia Club Junior Championship and the 2015 Athens City Junior Championships. The Dacula, Ga. native was also named the 2015 Athens Area Junior Tour Player of the Year.

According to head coach Damon Stancil, "Adding Annika to the 2017 signing class is great for our program. As she's a gifted athlete who has the length and skill set to contribute right away. The experience and success she's had over the last few years on several junior golf tours shows her ability to compete with and win against some of the best junior golfers out there."

When asked about her commitment to Brenau, Blanton said, "First and foremost, Brenau offers an exceptional Nursing program. As an aspiring trauma nurse, I could not dream of a better university to follow my dream. Also, to be able to represent Coach Stancil and the Golden Tiger golf team is such an honor."

Blanton, the second signee for Stancil for 2017-18, will join earlier signee Macie Hurst as the newest Golden Tigers.
