Lacrosse Struggles Versus Montreat in AAC Play
Black Mountain, North Carolina- The Brenau lacrosse team struggled in a 23-2 loss to Montreat (NC) in Appalachian Athletic Conference play on Wednesday.
Montreat jumped out to an early 4-0 lead to start the match until Brenau freshman Lindsay Bowbliss scored off a free position with 4:37 left in the first quarter.
The host Cavaliers responded with six consecutive goals until Bowbliss scored again to make the score 10-2.
Throughout the second half Montreat held possession and continued to pull away for the win.
Montreat held a 21-14 ground ball advantage and an 18-10 draw advantage.
Brenau keeper Emily Nix saved four shots in the loss.
Brenau (1-7 overall, 1-6 AAC) next hosts Reinhardt (Ga.) University (9-4 overall, 5-1 AAC) on Saturday at 2 pm eastern.
